While Captain Cook charts new sections of the bay, Forster and his companions reconnect with a Māori family whose trust begins to grow. A young dog, missing for two weeks in the forest, returns surprisingly healthy. The crew hunts ducks and seals for food, braves harsh weather, and sleeps on rocky shores beneath the open sky. Despite the conditions, their respect for nature deepens, and their scientific observations grow.

An episode filled with untamed beauty, the beginnings of friendship, and survival at the edge of the known world.
